Relics and Fossils
This portfolio began after attending a Paul Kenny workshop at Inversnaid. On the workshop I was inspired to create images from found objects rather than just photograph what lay in front of my camera. All these images are of rubbish picked up on local walks.
Relics are images of objects as they might be viewed by an archaeologist in the future. Sometimes the former use is obvious but not always. Where possible the images are made as photograms (ie the object is placed directly on photographic paper without the use of a camera).
Fossils are often of the same objects as relics but these images are made using multiple exposure techniques so that the objects appear to be emerging from the ground.
